| 授業概略と目的 ／Cource Description and Objectives |
This is project-based learning (PBL) class helps students explore nature-based education for young children. Students: 1) Learn about environmental education 2) Learn how to help children learn to enjoy the environment and take care of it. 3) Gain experience with interdisciplinary work by working with community partners |

This class will involve multiple projects based on the principles of active learning, Montessori, and free play in the context of nature. Projects are chosen and designed by the students under guidance form the faculty. Projects might include planting and growing plants, using maps, building, mud kitchens, music, art, and games. Methods of instruction include role-play, observation, small group work, discussion, and project-based learning |

Students will design project in small groups outside of regular class time. The average amount of time is 60 minutes per week. However, some weeks might have no outside work, while other weeks might have more than 60 minutes. |
